KENNETH ZEMAN Rolfe — Kenneth Zeman, age 82, passed away on September 27, 2007 at his home in Rolfe. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Rolfe, with Fr. Merle Kollasch officiating. Burial was at St. Margaret's Cemetery at Rolfe. Kenneth Charles Zeman was born on June 20, 1925, in Roosevelt Township near Pocahontas. He was the son of Charles and Agnes (Hotovec) Zeman. He was educated in Roosevelt Township country school. His family moved to Rolfe and he completed his education at Des Moines Township School. After he completed his education, Kenneth farmed with his parents. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific Theater from 1944 - 1946. After his discharge, Kenneth returned to Rolfe. On December 9, 1946, he married Geraldine Johnson at Rolfe. The couple had made their home in Rolfe since then. Kenneth worked for the Rolfe Locker Plant for almost twenty years and later worked for Pocahontas County as a maintainer operator, retiring in 1987. Kenneth belonged to St. Margaret's Catholic Church and the, American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; children, Larry Zeman of San Jose, Calif., Terry (Barb) Zeman of Rolfe, Joan (Mike) Behrendsen of Rolfe, Debra (Keith) Gillespie of Omaha, Nab„ Karen Ives of Rolfe. Kimberly (Randy) Martin of Windsor, Colo., George (Peggy) Zeman of Parker, Colo.. Susan McCartan of Rolfe, Mary (Ron) Wolcott of Rolfe. Fred (Lisa) Zeman of Rolfe and Jeff (Lisa) Zeman of Rolfe: twenty-nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Martin (Phyllis) of Rolfe and sister. Marcella (Tom) Triplett of Montrose, Colorado. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kathy, who died in 1959 and brothers, Arnold, Allen and Bernard.
