N. A. (JIM) WILSON

N.A. (Jim) Wilson, age 88, died on March 28, 1998 at Sun City, Arizona.

Norris Aubrey (Jim) Wilson was born on September 28, 1909, at St. Joseph, MO. He was the son of Charles R. and Muriel (Johnson) Wilson. At a young age, Jim's family moved to Rolfe. He graduated from Rolfe High School in 1928, and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. He moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the Internal Revenue Service. He also attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He later attended the University of Iowa Dental School. Jim settled in Rolfe and operated a Standard Oil Service Station, he later became a district manager for Standard Oil. In the early 1940's, he became a farm manager, retiring a few years ago. In May of 1939, Jim married Lillyan I. Nelson at Red Oak. To this union, a son and daughter were born. Lillyan died in January of 1946. In July of 1950, he married Esther H. Moss at Hull. The couple has made their home in Rolfe ever since.

Jim was a member of the Shared Ministry and was the President of the Pocahontas County Mutual Insurance board. He was a director of the Rolfe State Bank, a charter member of the Rolfe Lions Club, a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, served as president of the Rolfe School Board, was a longtime member of the American Society of Farm Management and Rural Appraisers, a sixty year member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and had served on the Rolfe City Council.

Survivors include his wife: Esther Wilson of Rolfe; daughter: Janis Sue Cerasani of New York City; son: N.A. Jim (Mary) Wilson II, of Alexandria, VA; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister: Ruby Beam of Cedar Falls and brother C.O. (Kip) Wilson of Sioux Falls, SD.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lillyan, sister, Ruth White and brother C.R. (Ross) Wilson.
