ALBERT E. STEWART

Albert E. Stewart, age 67, died Saturday, February 24, 2001, at his home in Rolfe.

Private family services were held with Powers Funeral Home in Rolfe handling arrangements.

Survivors include wife Joyce Stewart of Rolfe; daughters, Lynn (Scott) Johnson of Rolfe, Nina (Rick) Thoren of Rolfe, Ruth (Bill) Newhouse of Whittemore, Sue (Joe) Cash of Rolfe, and Jody (Todd) Applegate of Clear Lake; sons, Lee (Amanda) Stewart of Memphis, Tenn., Bret (Teresa) Stewart of Rolfe; and Nathan Stewart of Rolfe; daughter-in-law Darla Stewart of Albert Lea, Minnesota; mother-in-law Vera Hopkins of Rolfe; 17 grandchildren; and one great grandchild; sisters Velma Geary and Janice Killebrew of Loveland, Colorado, Geraldine Miller of Dixon, Missouri; and brother Calvin Stewart of Paullina. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ted and sister Elizabeth Bates.

Albert Earl Stewart was born September 28, 1933, at Primghar. He was the son of Earl and Vera (Chapman) Stewart. He graduated from Primghar High School in 1952. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954-1956, during the Korean Conflict. On September 10, 1955, he married Joyce Hopkins at Rolfe. The couple settled in Rolfe where Albert worked at the Super Valu grocery store and then for Monsanto Construction Corp. From 1969-1998, he worked as a flame cutter for Positech Corp in Laurens. He retired in 1998.
