EDWARD G. SCHONBERGER

Rolfe — Edward G. Schonberger, age 79, of Rolfe, died on April 3, 2001, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 6, at St. John's Catholic Church in Gilmore City, with Father Merle Kollasch officiating. Burial was in St. Margaret's Catholic Cemetery near Rolfe.

Survivors include sister Ileene (Leo) Diederich of Humboldt; sister-in-law Harriet Schonberger of Carroll; and several nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Delores Kliegl and a brother, Raymond.

Edward George Schonberger was born on January 24, 1922, near Plover. He was the son of Louis and Marcella (Hart) Schonberger. Ed was educated in Plover schools. He worked for the Rolfe Co-operative for many years. He also did carpentry work in the area before retiring in the 1980's.

Ed was a member. of St. Margaret's Catholic Church of Rolfe. He was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Ed always enjoyed railroads and_, traveling around with his many friends.
