Los Angeles, Calif. — Arnold A. Sandvig. age
82, died on August 12. 2005, at Los Angeles, Calif. Graveside
committal services were held on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 1:00
p.m. at the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe, Iowa, with the
Pastor Lilette Johnston officiating.
Arnold Alfred Sandvig was born on July 30, 1923, at
Rolfe. He was the son of Elmer and Sadie (Lilly) Sandvig. Arney was
educated at Rolfe, graduating from Rolfe High School in 1942. He
served in the US Army Medical Corps from 1943 to 1946. After the
war, Arney was stationed in Brussels. Belgium. While there, he met
Monique Lambert. The couple was married on September 19, 1946.
Following Arney’s discharge, they moved to Sioux City. In 1955, they
moved to Los Angeles, Calif. Arney was employed by Chasan’s
Furniture and Decorating until his retirement. Survivors include his
wife. Monique; daughter. Liliane Adamczyk of Las Vegas, Nev.;
grandsons Troy, Tim, Jerry and Jaimie; brothers, Jack (Betty)
Sandvig of Iowa City and Jim (Kathy) Sandvig of Rolfe; and sisters,
Jane Firkins of Newton and Pat (Garlin) Carmichael of Storm Lake.
Arney was preceded in death by his parents;
brothers, Don and Bill: sisters, Maurine Spiker and Donna Young: and
brothers-in-law, Dale Spiker, James Young, Lyle Firkins and Dennis
Leadley. |
