LEONA G. PULLEN

Rolfe -- Leona Pullen, age 91, died on Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at Rolfe, Iowa. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe with interment in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe.

Survivors include her daughter Carol (Carlos) Orezzoli of Shoreview, Minnesota: six granddaughters: thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Vera Drommer of Pomeroy.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; son Larry, sister Roberta, and brother Loren.

Leona Georgia Meyer was born on April 28, 1911, near Pomeroy. She was the daughter of George and Emma (Kretlow) Meyer. Leona was educated at Butler Township School and later at Immanuel Lutheran Church School in Pomeroy. After she completed her education, she helped with the family farm. In May of 1938, Leona married Floyd Pullen at Pomeroy. The couple. made their home at Nemaha until 1944, when they moved to their farm near Rolfe. Floyd died in September of 1963, and Leona moved into Rolfe In 1992. She entered the Rolfe Care Center in October of 1998. Leona was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the W.E.L.C.A. She belonged to the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Garden Club. Leona enjoyed playing cards and doing crafts in her spare time.
