Janet R. Peterson, 70, of Littleton, CO. died on Feb. 12, 2001, in her home.

Jan was born Aug. 31, 1930, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was a graduate of Rolfe Iowa High School and attended two years at University of Northern Iowa.

Jan lived in Littleton with her husband, C. W. "Pete" Peterson, whom she married on June 9, 1952, in Rolfe, Iowa. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Buena Vista Bridge Club (receiving the Bronze Life Master awarded by the American Contract Bridge League), was in the Bridge Club of Denver, and was an Avon Representative, a 13-year member of Avon's President Club.

Jan and Pete owned a summer home up Chalk Creek and have spent many summers and vacations at their cabin. Jan was a friendly person and became acquainted with many people in Chaffee County. She was particularly fond of duplicate bridge and bingo.

Jan is survived by her husband, C.W. Peterson, Littleton, CO; daughter, Karen Wildenstein, Lakewood, CO; sons, Robert Peterson, Steamboat Springs, CO and Douglas Peterson, Arvada, CO; and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. by Drinkwine Family Mortuary, Littleton, Co. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1 a.m. at Runyan Mortuary, Buena Vista. Interment of cremains will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Buena Vista.

There will be a luncheon following the memorial services Saturday for the family and friends at the American Legion Memorial Hall.
