STEVEN M. PEDERSEN WEST BEND — Steven M. Pedersen, age 61, of West Bend, formerly of Rolfe, died on June 12, 2006, as the result of a traffic accident near Boxholm. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolfe, with the Rev. Jack Kahle officiating. Burial was in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery at Rolfe. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. June 16 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolfe. Powers Funeral Home of Rolfe is in charge of arrangements.
STEVE PEDERSEN Rolfe — Steve Pedersen, age 61, died on June 12, 2006, near Boxholm. Services were held on Saturday. June. 17, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolfe, with the Rev. Jack Kahle officiating. Interment was in the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe, with graveside military rites performed by the Rolfe American Legion. Steven Melvin Pedersen was born on January 4, 1945, at Emmetsburg, the son of Melvin “Bill” and Dorothy Lou (McKim) Pedersen. Steve was raised and educated at Rolfe, graduating from Rolfe High School in 1963. Steve served in the US Army from 1963-1967. He farmed for many years in the area. Steve and his wife Susan operated the Inn in Rolfe in the 1980’s. They later moved to West Bend, where they operated Sue and Steve’s. In 2000, he began trucking for Miller Freight Lines in West Bend. Steve was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the West Bend American Legion. He enjoyed carpentry and doing family projects. Steve enjoyed NASCAR and tending his wildflowers, he especially loved spending time with his granddaughter. Survivors include his wife, Susan; sons, Stephen (Susie) Pedersen and his beloved granddaughter, Brooke, of Algona and Clint “Bubba” Pedersen of Des Moines; mother, Dorothy Lou Pedersen. of Rolfe: brothers, Joe (Sue) Pedersen of Laurens, Dean (Paula) Pedersen of Barnum and Mike (Paula) Pedersen of Rolfe; brother-in-law, Larry Peterson of West Des Moines; five nephews, four nieces, two great-nephews and two great-nieces. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bill; sister, Phyllis Peterson; and brother, Isaac.
