ROBERT (BOB) GENE PEDERSEN

Rolfe - Robert Gene Pedersen was born on March 12, 1929, in Humboldt County near Ottosen. He was the son of Chris and Thora Pedersen. He was educated in area country schools. After he completed his education, Bob worked for his dad on the family farm. On June 1, 1947, Bob married Carol McKim in Plover. The couple farmed in the Rolfe area until 1989, when they moved into Rolfe. Carol died on July 5, 1997. Bob has continued to help Larry with his farming. He had spent winters in Arizona and Nevada for thirty years.

Bob was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and formerly the Lions Club. He enjoyed dancing, gambling, golfing and playing dice. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with his family and many, many friends.

Survivors include his children: Nancy (Dennis) Heathman of Rolfe, Linda Tutt of Cedar Rapids and Larry (Cindy) Pedersen of Rolfe; grandchildren: Angela Anderson, Clayton Heathman, Nick, Kelly and Molly Tutt and Adam and Jayci Pedersen and sister, Betty (Ed) Wilcox of Algona.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol, sister, Helen Simonson and brothers, Isaac, Lester, Andrew and Melvin "Bill" Pedersen.

Bob Pedersen was married to the late Carol McKim Pedersen. The couple had three children who graduated from Rolfe High School: Nancy Pedersen Heathman (class of 1970) of rural Rolfe, Linda Pedersen Tutt (1973) of Cedar Rapids, and Larry Pedersen (1975) of rural Rolfe.
