LEWIS M. PAULSON

Lewis M. Paulson, 101, of Rolfe, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at the Rolfe Care Center in Rolfe.

Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, at the Powers Funeral Home in Rolfe, with the Rev. Rick Dee officiating. Burial was in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery near Rolfe.

Survivors include nieces and nephews. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maye; two brothers; and three sisters.

Lewis M. Paulson was born May 2, 1899, near Rolfe. He was the son of Engel and Ellen (Ryen) Paulson. Lewis was educated in area country schools. He worked on the family farm and later moved to Minnesota, where he farmed and worked road construction. He later returned to Rolfe. On July 9, 1930, Lewis married Regina Maye Weible at Gilmore City. The couple lived their entire married life in Rolfe. Lewis worked at Taylor's Service Station, then trucked for a number of years. He worked at Rolfe Auto for 24 years and then the veterinary clinic for 14 years, before he retired in 1978. In May of 1992, Lewis and Maye entered the Rolfe Care Center. Maye died on August 28, 1995.

Lewis was a member of the Shared Ministry of Rolfe and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and gardening in his spare time.
