BUSTER O'NEILL Rolfe -- Buster O'Neill age 85, of Rolfe, passed away on July 23, 2008, at his home in Rolfe. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2008, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe, with. Pastor Paul Breddin officiating. Burial was at Clinton-Garfield Cemetery near Rolfe. Powers Funeral Home In Rolfe was in charge of the arrangements. Buster O'Neill was born on February 2. 1923, at Beebeetown. He was the son of Ambrose and Myrtle (Tradel) O'Neill. Buster graduated from Kirkman High School in 1940. On June 13, 1959, he married Ethel Meier at Council Bluffs. The couple made their home in Rolfe. Ethel died on October 11, 1984. Buster married Earla Howland on September 10, 1988, at Gilmore City. They have lived in Rolfe since then. Buster farmed in the Rolfe area until he retired in the late 1990's. Buster enjoyed playing cards, watching wildlife and rebuilding old tractors and cars. He enjoyed his life as a farmer very much. Survivors include his wife, Earla; step-children, Darwin Edwards of Gainesboro, Ga. and Tammy McGruder of Spencer; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Gaarder and Beverly Conaway, both of Green Valley, Ariz., Betty Landers of Ashland, Neb. Bonnie Wedel of Council Bluffs, and Peggy Wassem of Denver, Colo.; brothers, John. of Coos Bay, Ore., Melvin of Missouri, and Jim of Corning; sister-In-law, Marla O'Neill of Council Bluffs; and several nieces and nephews. Buster was preceded In death by his parents; his first wife, Ethel; step-sons, David Howland and Dennis Edwards; and brother, Robert and a brother who died in infancy.
