GLEN E. NEUGENT

Rolfe - Glen Neugent, age 80, passed away on January 25, 2008, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe with Rev. Sara Galindo officiating. Burial was held in Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong, with full military rites provided by Weiby Johnson Post #5232 VFW in Armstrong. Powers Funeral Home in Rolfe was in charge of the arrangements.

Glen Edward Neugent was born on February 10, 1927, at Armstrong. He was the son of Walter E. and Martha (Smith) Neugent. He was educated in Armstrong schools. During World War II, Glen served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater. He was dubbed the Honorable Glen Neugent by Prince Rainer of Australia. After his discharge, Glen returned to Armstrong and went to work for Iowa Electric.

On January 26, 1952, Glen married Marjorie Solberg at Armstrong. The couple made their homes in Fairfield, Belle Plaine and Iowa Falls before moving to Rolfe in 1968. In the mid- 1980's, Glen opened The Inn in Rolfe. He operated it until the early 1990's. Marjorie passed away on March 23, 1992.

Glen was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran, the V.F.W. and the Lions Club. He enjoyed people and especially enjoyed spending time with his many friends.

Survivors include his children, Lynn (Craig) Debel of North Branch, Minnesota, Steve Neugent of Quincy, Illinois, and Michelle (Tim) Lentsch of Clare and eight grandchildren.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; a son who died in infancy; brothers, Howard, Ralph, Thomas, and Durwood; and sisters, Vi, Florence, and Leona.
