VERA C. LEHNUS 

Vera C. Lehnus, 89, Rolfe, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 1995, at the Maple Crest Care Center in Omaha, NE.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Shared Ministry in Rolfe with the Rev. Albert Best officiating. Burial was in the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery at Rolfe.

Survivors include her sons, Byrl, Omaha, and Richard, Sparks, NV; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; and two sisters.

Vera Celestia Murray was born on October 13, 1906, at Rolfe. She was the daughter of John and Flora (Minkler) Murray. She graduated from Rolfe High School in 1925 and received her teaching certificate from Iowa State University in Ames. On December 31, 1927, she married George L. Lehnus at Rolfe. The couple farmed near Rolfe, retiring in 1986. George died on September 13, 1989. She continued to make her home in Rolfe, until 1991, when she moved to Omaha.

Vera was a member of the Shared Ministry of Rolfe for over seventy years. She was a former member of the Eastern Star. She had been very active in the Farm Bureau district office. Vera enjoyed gardening, needlework and various crafts in her spare time.

Survivors include her sons Byrl Lehnus of Omaha, NE and Richard (Donna) Lehnus of Sparks, NV; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Lela Hewlett and Alta Hewlett.
