DALE L. JENNINGS

Rolfe - Dale L. Jennings 74, of Rolfe, passed away October 23, 2003, at his home.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. October 27 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.

Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife, Janice of Rolfe, children and their spouses, Bob and Sue Jennings of Ames, Rennie and Lowell Johnson of Gilmore City, Becky and Larry Dunbar of Fort Dodge, and Bob Jennings of Sac City; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother Lyle Jennings of Dexter. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wayne Jennings.

Dale LeRoy Jennings, the son of Herschel and Bertha (Soldow) Jennings, was born May 17, 1929, at Ottosen. He was raised and educated at Pioneer and became a hog buyer at the age of 15. After his family sold their stockyards to Hy Grade he became a buyer for the company. In 1951, Dale served with the United States Army in Korea for 18 months, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart twice. Following his discharge, he returned home and on February 1, 1953, was united in marriage to Janice Hansen. He continued as a hog buyer until 1982. He then .went to work for Carla Pedersen and Gary Pedersen until his death.

Mr. Jennings was a member of the Shared Ministry Church of Rolfe. He enjoyed fishing, stock car racing and visiting with people.
