JACKIE W. HUGHES

C1ear Lake — Jackie W. Hughes, age 70, passed away on October 31 at Mercy Medical Center In Mason City. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the. Forum at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake with pastors Will Hunsaker and Rich Murray officiating. Burial was at Clinton­Garfield Cemetery at Rolfe. The Powers Funeral Home in Rolfe was in charge of the arrangements.

Jackie William Hughes was born on May 8, 1937, near ;Rolfe. Be, was the son of Harris and Erma (Colee) Hughes. Jackie was educated at Rolfe and graduated from Rolfe High School in 1958. He worked at Beckord's Chicken Hatchery and later for his brother at Jerry's Super Valu. Jackie moved to Clear Lake in 1974 and made his home at various locations within the Opportunity Village.

Jackie was a member of the Methodist Church in Rolfe and Clear Lake. He. currently attended the Open Bible Church. He belonged to the Clear Lake Lions Club and the Village Arrowhead Club. He liked to bowl and go to Camp Courageous. He especially loved spending time with his many friends at Opportunity Village.

Survivors include his sisters, Susann Stockwell of Laurens and Linda Kemery of Lenox; sister-in-law, Judy Hughes of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Herscher; and brothers, Kenneth, Jerry and Gene.
