DORIS McKIM HENDERSON

September 19, 1926—December 28, 2010

Doris M. Henderson, age 84, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Rolfe, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Doris Marie McKim was born September 19, 1926, at Plover, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred and Leta (Heathman) McKim. She graduated from Plover High School. On November 14, 1948, Doris married Lawrence Henderson at Plover. In 1954, they moved to Rolfe and continued farming. In 1996, they moved to Pocahontas. Lawrence passed away in 2005. In 2006, Doris moved to Fort Dodge.

Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and playing bridge.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Allen and Deb Henderson of Grinnell and Connie and Larry Boyd, Fort Dodge; six grandchildren, Lori Bland, Julie Walker, Blake and Cole Henderson and Leah and Lucas Boyd; four great-grandchildren; sister, Alice (Roger) Witt of Rolfe and brother, Fred (Margaret) McKim of Arnolds Park. Allen was a 1970 graduate of RHS, and Connie was a 1974 graduate of RHS.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; infant daughter, Arlene; sisters, Margaret Schweppe, Dorothy Pedersen, Carol Pedersen and Zola Creznik and brother, Frank McKim.
