KRISTY HAMMER

Gilmore City - Kristy Hammer, age 43, of Gilmore City, died on March 12, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe, with the Rev. David Peterson officiating. Burial was in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery at Rolfe.

Survivors include daughters, NiCole Hammer and Amanda Hammer, both of Ames; son Trent Hammer of Ames; mother Marvel Sandvig of Rolfe; brothers, Jerry (Geri) Sandvig and

James (Diana) Sandvig, all of Rolfe; and sister Kelly Sandvig of Rolfe; and her fiancée Frank Marchant, Jr., of Gilmore City. Kristy was preceded in death by her father, Don Sandvig.

Kristy Marie Sandvig was born on April 14, 1959, in Fort Dodge. She was the daughter of Donald and Marvel (Cruickshank) Sandvig. She was educated in Rolfe schools, graduating from Rolfe High School in 1978. On September 21, 1978, Kristy married Robert Hammer in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their homes in Rolfe, Oskaloosa, and Ames. In 1993, Kristy returned to the Gilmore City area.

Kristy was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and she was a former member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, landscaping her acreage, and her many animals, and birds. Kristy especially enjoyed spending time with and helping her many friends and family.
