obituary from newspaper BERYL B. ERICKSON Rolfe — Beryl B. Erickson, age 86, of Rolfe, died on May 26, at the Rolfe Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the Shared Ministry of Rolfe with the Rev. David Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery near Rolfe. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Powers Funeral Home in Rolfe. Survivors include husband Art Erickson of Rolfe; daughter Marilyn (Lawrence) Nelson of Rolfe: sons, Dale Erickson of Cathedral City, Calif, Wayne (Carol) Erickson of Collierville, Tenn., Ron (Margie) Erickson of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Don (Marge) Erickson of Fountain Valley, Calif; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister Bonna Christensen of Woodbury, Minn. Beryl was preceded in death by her parents, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gary Smith and two brothers. Beryl Berdeen Beyer was born on Nov. 2, 1914, at Buffalo Center. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Johnson) Beyer. Beryl was educated in Buffalo Center schools, graduating from high school there in 1932. On Feb. 18, 1933, Beryl married Art Erickson at Tehama, Neb. The couple made their home in Buffalo Center. Cedar Falls and Rolfe before moving to Alhambra, Calif. In 1977, they returned to Rolfe. Beryl entered the Rolfe Care Center in 1997. Beryl was a member of the Shared Ministry. She was a deacon in the Presbyterian Church in California and was a member of the Voyagers Church Group there. Beryl belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and a variety of hand-crafts. Beryl and Art traveled extensively while they were able.
