RICHARD M. BENNETT

ROLFE - Richard M. "Dick" Bennett, 64, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at his home.

Private family services will be Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home, Rolfe, with the Rev. Eugene Murray officiating. Burial will be in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include wife Beverly Bennett, Rolfe; son Mike Bennett, Fort Dodge; daughters, Marilyn Morey, Mallard, Kerry Gilarski, Ames, Jan Zweber, New Prague, Minn., and Leann Sweeney, Mankato, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; sisters Linda Moore, West Bend, and Kim Stowell, Pocahontas; and brothers Bill Bennett, Napa, Calif., Roger Bennett and Russell Johnson, both of Rolfe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle Bennett and Maxine Alexandor Bennett-Johnson, and one sister, Marilyn.

Richard Merle Bennett was born Aug. 26, 1936, at Spencer. He graduated from the D.M.T. High School in 1954. In 1957, he married Beverly Pierick at Fairmont, Minn. The couple lived in Rolfe. He retired from Ahlrichs Cabinet Shop in Pocahontas in 1998.

He was a member of the Rolfe Fire Department and the City Council.
