ANNA B. APPLEGATE

Gilmore City — Anna B. Applegate, 85, of Gilmore City, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at the Pocahontas Manor Care Center.

Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City, with the Rev. Ray Block officiating. Burial was in the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe.

Anna is survived by her daughter Charlotte Christians and her husband Ken of Lakefield, Minnesota; her son Harvey and his wife Carol of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers, LeRoy (Marietta) Guderian of Fort Dodge, and Harold (Eileen) Guderian of Lowery, Minnesota; sisters Hazel Jensen of El Paso, Ill., Margie Bundy, Fort Dodge, Berniece Feaster, Fort Dodge; sisters-in-law, MarJean Guderain, Pocahontas, and Delma Guderian, Gilmore City; seven grandchildren; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester, one son, Eugene, brothers, Julius and Frederick (Fritz), and sister, Marie.

Anna Bertha Guderian, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Krie) Guderian, was born in rural Palmer on October 20, 1915. Anna attended country school through the eighth grade and attended high school in Gilmore City. On December 20, 1935, Anna was united in marriage to Lester Applegate at the First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City. The couple farmed in the Gilmore City area where Anna was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. On April 20, 2001, she entered Pocahontas Manor Hospice Room.

Anna was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City, and also a member of the V.F.W. of Rolfe. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and spending time with her family.
