LLOYD L. WAGNER

Humboldt — Lloyd L. Wagner. 88, of Humboldt, passed away September 27, 2005, at the Humboldt Care Center South. A Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 am. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt, with Father William Schreiber officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Pocahontas.

Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife, Vernice of Humboldt; daughters, Judy Reis of Storm Lake, Barb Bennett and her husband, Kenny of Rolfe; twin Sons and their wives, Dale and Pat Wagner of Creston, and Denny and Delores Wagner of Rolfe; step-daughter, Dianne Andersen and her husband Denny of Humboldt; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister Delores Wagner Reis of Wall Lake; and brother-in-law, Robert Naughton of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Cory Wagner; son-in-law, Robert Reis; sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Wayne Philps; sister, Ivadelle Naughton; and brother-in-law, Vincent Reis.

Lloyd Leonard Wagner, the son of Jake and Mary (Hotovec) Wagner, was born March 30, 1917, at Havelock. He attended school in Havelock and graduated from Havelock High School in 1934. Lloyd farmed in the Havelock, Rolfe, Pocahontas, and Humboldt areas. On January 15, 1941, he was united In marriage to Grace Vining and they made their home on the farm until moving to Humboldt in 1961. Lloyd continued his farming operations, trucking business, and custom fieldwork. Grace passed away on January 12, 1990, and in 1991 he was united In marriage to Vernice Hoops. In 1992, Lloyd retired and he and Vernice continued to maintain their home In Humboldt until he became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center South In February of this year.

Mr. Wagner was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church In Humboldt, the Knights of Columbus, Humboldt County Farm Bureau, and the Humboldt County Historical Society.

Editor's note: Lloyd's daughter, Judy, graduated from Rolfe High School in 1960; his twin sons, Dale and Denny, graduated from Rolfe n 1962, and his daughter, Barb, graduated from Rolfe in 1964.
