Shirley Jolene Wittrock passed away at the age of 59 on July 28, 1996 at Pocahontas Community Hospital. Funeral services were held at the Shared Ministries in Rolfe with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Burial was at the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe.
Shirley was born on January 24, 1937 in Rolfe and attended the Rolfe Consolidated School system, graduating in 1955. She was married to William G. Wittrock on February 15, 1958 and the couple made their home in Fonda and later in Humboldt. She returned to Rolfe in 1995 and had interests in family genealogy.
She is survived by three sons Michael Wittrock of Algona, Joseph Wittrock of Indianapois, and Matthew Wittrock of Rolfe, as well as four daughters Christine O'Donnell of Rolfe, Lisa Sewell of West Bend, Teresa Wittrock of Humboldt and Tricia Wittrock of Cedar Falls. She is also survived by brothers Virgil Peterson of Rolfe, Roger Peterson of Pleasant Hill and four sisters Evelyn McVay, Marilyn Sweet, Marlene Fridolfson, and Joyce Baker, all from Rolfe. She was blessed with nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Charlotte (Weaver) Peterson and sisters Betty Duncan, Donna Henderson, Verene Baade and brothers Harley and Harlis.
