I worked for Merrit Baily at his restaurant, then for Dr. Ranney until he had to go to the Service in July, 1953. My next job was with Esther Ferdan at the school, as cook in the Hot Lunch Program.

I got married in 1954 to Aubrey King and had 3 kids:

Don in 1955, who married Kathy and has 1 son, Don Jr.;

Julie in 1958, who is married to Robert Rosenboom with no children; Wayne in 1971, who is married to Chris - 3 children - Kalib, Brandon & Shayla.

I helped Aubrey farm by getting the fields ready to plant and ‘combined beans while he was at work. My husband was a bus driver during the school year for about 20 years. He also worked at John Deere in Manson for 22 years I was manager at the Congregate Meal Site for Senior Citizens in Manson for a few years, until 1987.

Lately I have been crocheting, quilting, doing some sewing, compiling our family history and trying to be retired.
