TO THE CLASS OF ROLFE HIGH SCHOOL OF ‘52
Doesn’t seem like 50 years since I walked off that stage of R.H.S.
I was blessed by God when I lived in Rolfe and still am.
After graduation Ramon Carlson and I went to Sioux City Business College.
I started working for Safeway Stores, Inc. in Fort Dodge in l954. I became an ass’t manager in 1961. I was transferred to Denison, Iowa in 1971. Safeway closed it’s Iowa stores in l982. All of the employees interviewed for a job a the new Hy Vee Stores Inc. Of these only three were hired and I was one of them. Again I was to be blessed. My work habits that I had gained in Rolfe were a big part of my being hired. I worked for Hy Vee until 1995 , retired and moved back to Fort Dodge.
Marilyn Anderson of Barnum, Iowa and I were married in 1956. Marilyn worked at banks for many years in Fort Dodge and Kiron, Iowa.
We have been blessed with four children. David, 44, married and lives in Monticello, MN. Twin daughters, 42, Sharon, single and Karen who lives in Tulsa, OK. Karen has a daughter Kinsey, 11 and Brogan, 9. Our youngest son, Dan, 39 and single lives in Des Moines.
Looking forward to attending our first class reunion.
